Nigeria gained her independence some 50 years ago and has remain as an independent country ever since then despite her vast diversity cutting across several ethnic societies with different ideologies.Democracy some ten years ago urshered in a new hope after several years of military dictatorship with the emergence of seemingly democratically elected officials to run the affairs of the country. The various tiers of government have failed to alleviate the plight of Nigerians who had so much hope on these governments. These various tiers of government have being massively involved in corrupt practices;massively looting the economy and depriving the poor from access to some basic amenities essential to quality life .
Elections again are around the corner.I don't want to be drawn issues;but it is quite clear the politicians are here again with their intrigues to deceive the defenceless populace again.Tensions are high because politicians have failed to base their campaign based on issues but rather on baseless issues along ethnic lines which would profit no one(the north versus the south).Politicians are catching in on the endemic poverty in the land and all they do is to share salt and rice to hungry masses their slaves.
The masses are getting fed up?The wind of change is blowing already.Only time would tell if we would remain as a united federation after the elections because so many questions remain unanswered.
